For example, AI may suggest alternative headlines, but a human editor selects and approves the final version.

How do we disclose AI use to readers?
Articles that have used AI tools for research or drafting carry a clear disclosure at the bottom of the page, stating: “This article was supported by AI tools for research and drafting, approved by a human editor.” Sponsored or commercial material assisted by AI is additionally labelled according to our Sponsored Content Policy. Readers can always identify human authorship through the named writer and editor credits on every article.
How does our AI policy relate to other editorial standards?
This AI & Automation Policy works alongside our Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Policy. All editorial standards apply equally to AI-assisted and fully human-produced content. The fact-checking team, led by Daniela Vogt (emma.sandberg@politikjournal24.de), verifies sources and claims regardless of the production method. Corrections follow our Corrections Policy whether or not AI was involved.
