Daniela Vogt, our Ansvarig för faktagranskning (Head of Fact-Checking and Corrections), oversees all correction procedures at Politikjournal24. She leads the standards desk, which receives, investigates, and resolves every reported error. Simon Engels, our Chefredaktör, has final authority over any escalated correction dispute or complex editorial decision. The standards desk operates independently from commercial and editorial production teams to maintain objectivity.
Politikjournal24 is published by Mitte Digital Media Limited, a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92102, Malta Business Registry). Our registered office is at Level 2, Portomaso Business Tower, St Julian’s, STJ 4011, Malta. Readers should direct all correction correspondence to corrections@politikjournal24.de rather than to individual journalists.
How do I report an error to Politikjournal24?
Readers can report any factual mistake, omission, or misleading statement by emailing corrections@politikjournal24.de with the article URL, the exact error, and the correct information if known. The standards desk acknowledges receipt within 24 hours on business days. For urgent corrections, you can also call our Swedish editorial line at +49 30 577 012 85, but written confirmation must follow by email.
Reports should include your name and contact details so we can follow up if clarification is needed. Anonymous tips are accepted, but we may be unable to verify the claim without additional information. We also accept error reports via our Contact page, though the corrections email is the fastest route. All reports are logged in our internal corrections database with a unique reference number.
What happens after you submit a correction report?
The standards desk, led by Daniela Vogt, investigates each report within two business days to determine whether the claimed error is material and verifiable. If the desk confirms a material error—meaning a factual inaccuracy that could mislead a reasonable reader—the original article is updated immediately with a clear correction note at the top and bottom of the page. The correction note states what was wrong, what the corrected fact is, and the date of the change.
For non-material errors, such as minor typographical mistakes or formatting issues, we correct the text without a separate note but log the change internally. If the desk determines the report is unfounded, we explain the reasoning to the complainant in writing. All decisions are documented and signed off by Daniela Vogt or, in contentious cases, by Simon Engels.
What types of corrections does Politikjournal24 publish?
Politikjournal24 distinguishes among corrections, clarifications, and retractions. A correction is published when a material factual error occurs in a news article, analysis, or background piece. A clarification is added if the original text was ambiguous or incomplete but not factually wrong. A retraction is issued when an entire article is found to be based on false premises or fabricated information, which is extremely rare given our editorial processes.
All corrections and retractions are displayed prominently on the article page and are also listed in a permanent corrections log accessible at our corrections archive.
