Quellen & Standards

Politikjournal24 is committed to providing readers with reliable, verifiable journalism. This page explains the specific sources and standards that underpin our reporting, and how readers can formally challenge any content we publish. Every article is produced with the principle that trust must be earned through consistent, transparent practice.

Who is responsible for this publication?

Politikjournal24 is owned and operated by Mitte Digital Media Limited, a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92102, Malta Business Registry), with its registered office at Level 2, Portomaso Business Tower, St Julian’s, STJ 4011. Full ownership and funding details are published on our Ownership & Funding page.

Editorial independence is guaranteed by contract: no commercial partner, advertiser, or sponsor has any influence over editorial decisions. The Chefredaktör, Simon Engels, holds final authority over all content and is the sole point of accountability for editorial standards, publication decisions, and corrections. Our newsroom operates under Swedish press ethics and the European Code of Journalism Standards.

What we rely on day to day

Our reporting rests on four pillars: primary sources, named human expertise, official data, and transparent methodology.

Primary sources and verification

We prioritise direct access to original documents, official records, and first-hand testimony. For Swedish political coverage, this means Riksdagen committee reports, government agency press releases, court rulings, and publicly filed financial disclosures. Our Politikredaktör, Jonas Hartmann, maintains a database of verified contact points within all eight Riksdag parties and key ministries. For Wirtschaft reporting, Eva Lang uses Statistiska centralbyrån (SCB) data, Riksbanken publications, and company regulatory filings from Bolagsverket.

Every source is evaluated for authority, recency, and potential bias. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is of clear public interest and cannot be obtained on the record; in such cases, the reason for anonymity is stated in the article. Fabrication of sources, quotes, or interviews is strictly forbidden under our AI & Automation Policy.

Fact-checking and review process

Every article published on Politikjournal24 is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and independently fact-checked before publication. Our team includes a dedicated Ansvarig för faktagranskning, Daniela Vogt, who leads a team cross-checking all factual claims against at least two independent sources where possible. Corrections and clarifications are handled according to our published Corrections Policy.

We maintain an internal style guide that mandates attributing claims to named individuals or organisations. Generalisations such as „experts say“ are avoided. Statistical claims are linked to the underlying dataset or report. For Wirtschaft and economic coverage, we always state the time period, currency, and methodology used in any data cited.

AI-assisted tools and human oversight

Digital tools may support research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries, and transcription. However, AI never replaces human editorial judgement. All published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience, or expert profiles. Our full policy is detailed on the AI & Automation Policy page.

Sponsored and commercial content

Sponsored content, affiliate links, and commercial partnerships are clearly labelled. Affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. For detailed guidelines, see our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure and Sponsored Content Policy.

How to challenge our reporting

If you believe an article contains a factual error, omits relevant context, or breaches our editorial standards, we have a formal process for raising concerns.

Step one: contact the editorial team directly

Send your complaint to corrections@politikjournal24.de. Include the full headline, URL, date of publication, and a clear explanation of what you believe is incorrect and what evidence supports your correction. For matters involving privacy, legal issues, or defamation, use legal@politikjournal24.de. General editorial inquiries can be directed to editorial@politikjournal24.de.

Step two: review and response timeline

Our fact-checking team, led by Daniela Vogt, will acknowledge receipt within two business days. A substantive response, including any proposed correction, clarification, or explanation of why no change is necessary, will be provided within ten business days. If the issue is complex, we will inform you of the expected timeline.

Step three: escalation to the Chefredaktör

If you are not satisfied with the initial response, you may escalate directly to Chefredaktör Simon Engels at anders.lindqvist@politikjournal24.de (phone: +46 8 525 030 61). He will review the matter personally and issue a final decision within a further ten business days.

Step four: external oversight

Should our internal processes not resolve your concern, we participate in the Swedish Press Council (Pressens Opinionsnämnd) system. Details on how to submit a complaint to the council are available on our Complaints Procedure page. We also commit to publishing all significant corrections and the outcome of upheld complaints on our site.

Our commitments

  • We clearly label all sponsored, affiliate, and commercial content so readers can distinguish it from independent journalism.
  • We name every source we rely on, unless anonymity is essential for public interest and clearly explained in the article.
  • We maintain full editorial independence from our commercial partners and from Mitte Digital Media Limited.
  • We respond to every formal complaint within two business days and resolve it within ten business days.
