Who is responsible for sponsored content at Politikjournal24?
Simon Engels, Chefredaktör, is ultimately responsible for all sponsored content decisions at Politikjournal24, which is owned and operated by Mitte Digital Media Limited, a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92102, Malta Business Registry) with its registered office at Level 2, Portomaso Business Tower, St Julian’s, STJ 4011. No sponsored material is published without his explicit approval or that of a designated senior editor. Enquiries regarding sponsored content should be directed to sponsored@politikjournal24.de.
How is sponsored content labelled?
Every piece of sponsored content on Politikjournal24 carries a clear, prominent label reading “Sponsored” or “Sponsored Content” at the top of the page and immediately below the headline. This label appears in a distinct visual format that cannot be overlooked, ensuring readers can distinguish it from independent editorial articles. The label is also included in the article’s metadata and summary where applicable.
What rules govern sponsored content production?
Sponsored content must be produced in accordance with our Editorial Policy requirements for accuracy, fairness and legality. All claims made in sponsored material are subject to the same fact-checking standards applied to editorial content, overseen by Daniela Vogt, Ansvarig för faktagranskning (emma.sandberg@politikjournal24.de). Sponsored content cannot contain misleading headlines, fabricated quotes, unsubstantiated claims or any material that would breach our Terms of Use.
How is sponsored content distinguished from affiliate links?
Sponsored content is a commercial arrangement in which a third party pays for a specific article or feature, and is clearly labelled as such. Affiliate links, by contrast, are embedded within regular editorial content and generate a commission when a reader purchases a product through that link. Full details of our affiliate practices are set out in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure. The two are never combined: sponsored content does not contain affiliate links unless explicitly stated in the sponsorship agreement and clearly disclosed to readers.
Does sponsored content affect editorial independence?
No. Commercial relationships, including sponsored content agreements, never determine editorial conclusions, story selection or coverage priorities. The newsroom operates independently under Katrin Fischer, Redaktionschef (karin.bergstrom@politikjournal24.de), and no sponsor has any influence over our independent journalism. This separation is enforced by our Ownership & Funding policy, which is publicly available.
Where can readers submit enquiries or complaints about sponsored content?
All enquiries, complaints or suggestions regarding sponsored content should be sent to sponsored@politikjournal24.de. For general complaints about editorial content, readers may use complaints@politikjournal24.de or consult our Complaints Procedure. The full contact details for our editorial team and company are available on our Contact page.
